   A resident of Wilmington, NC  Mr. Martin graduated from John T. Hoggard High School in 1981 and immediately entered the construction business forming in 1982 what is now Martin Development, Inc. Mr. Martin is well known for designing and building quality self storage projects, office, retail, institutional, and quality of life neighborhoods.

In 1994 Mr. Martin designed and constructed his first self storage center which later won the prestigious “FACILITY OF THE YEAR AWARD” for design excellence. Known for excellent customer service Martin Self Storage Centers has grown to 18 locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida and is ranked in the top fifty nationally in facility ownership.

Mr. Martin served on the North Carolina Self Storage Association as a board member where he headed the legal affairs committee in charge of standardizing all self storage rental agreements in the State of North Carolina. Mr. Martin later served as President of this organization.

Mr. Martin is the owner of Southcoast Commercial, LLC also known as Southcoast Realty.
